How to get around Lisbon;
There’s more to Web Summit than just conferences, there are smaller events happening all over Lisbon, and to get to them, you need to know how to get around. For that purpose, the Lisbon Metro has got your back, with metro passes specific for Web Summit attendees!
You can buy them online, and travel freely around Lisbon, Sintra and Cascais by metro, bus, tram, elevators and urban trains (in the Sintra, Cascais, Azambuja and Sado lines).
Important note: you have to make sure to obtain this special card between October 28th and November 4th, so check the conditions! Find more information right here!
Also important: for those using the metro’s yellow line, the circulation between Campo Grande and Entre Campos is not happening between October 31st and November 7th, since the Cidade Universitária station is under construction, learn more about it right here.

Where you can (co) work within the city
While attending the conferences is the highlight of Web Summit, the show must go on regarding your own work, therefore, finding a place to get work done is a must.
Working in a Café or Brunch place is a great way to do it!
Some of our recommendations are: Mila, a brunch place, one of the Copenhagen Coffee Lab locations, Hello Kristof, Curva, or one of the many Padarias Portuguesas that you will find all over the city!
And if you prefer a co-working space to get your work done, fear not, you can find the perfect place in the Croissant app! This useful app enables you to work from several co-working spaces all over the city.
Nice restaurants where you can bring friends (or important clients)
Portugal is known for many things, from great weather to amazing landscapes, but definitely also the great food! In Lisbon you can find a wide range of restaurants with all the cuisines that you can imagine – perfect for business dinners, team buildings and other business affairs!
Here are the Lisbeyond suggestions:
- Bairro do Avillez;
- Cantinho do Avillez in Parque das Nações so near to the Web Summit;
- Palácio Ludovice;
- Versículo do Faia;
- A Nossa Casa;
- Maçã Verde – a true Portuguese ‘tasca’;
- Prado.
Important tip: a great way to find restaurants is apps like the Fork, where besides finding eating out places, you can also book reservations, get discounts due to the reservations and receive points that you can then discount in later bookings!
